Bug With Dell PN5122W on Inspiron 14 7440

I have encountered an issue with my pen and laptop, named in the title. Whenever I use my pen, it occasionally locks in place near the bottom middle of my screen, like it loses the position of the pen and it puts the digital "nib" in the default position. This in itself is not a major issue, but when i then want to use my laptop without the pen, it moves the mouse to this same spot, even when the pen is very far away/has the batteries taken out.

This leads me to believe that it is searching for the pen, despite me not wanting to use the pen, I cant seem to turn off "pen mode" on demand, and would like some help resolving this issue!
