Are laptops with LPDDR4x chips upgadeable?
Looking at this Inspiron 16 2-in-1 laptop for my parents for Christmas. The base config comes with 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM,, but the price jumps $40 to add 8GB more of RAM for 16 GB total. Will there be a second slot that I can add my own LPDDR4x RAM to add after I buy this laptop?

Dell uses different motherboard for different memory capacity. There is no slot to add or replace memory.

No, Inspiron 16 7635 uses on board memory and can not be upgraded by customers.

@Chino de Oro Thanks for the reply. Is there typically available slots to increase memory capacity from say 8GB to 16GB?

How convenient that this works in their favor so they can upcharge for increasing RAM or stay trapped with a lower RAM laptop forever..

It's a widely used design on several product lines including XPS and Latitude. At least, you've done your research and being aware of the limited option. Selecting the desire memory specs now and avoiding headache down the road.
