adapter inspiron 5558 and p/n decoding

Hello D-community ))

I can't find the da45nm140 adapter for my old dell inspiron 5558 laptop, but there are a lot of la45nm140s in the store.

Does anyone know if they are interchangeable?

Only the da45nm140 is listed in the product specifications, but what is the fundamental difference in one first letter? LED illumination of the cable tip?

thanx a lot !

As long as they have the correct power output for your system (make sure yours has integrated video since it's 45W) and the correct plug size (4.5 mm) either will work.

If I had to guess, one is made by Delta (D) and the other by Lite-on (L).

As @ejn63 said, you'll want a 45w adapter with a 4.5mm barrel size. In terms of official part numbers from our spare parts page, you'll want to look for an adapter with part number #KXTTW. I see we actually still have stock of it so you should be able to have a quote created by our out of warranty teams should you choose to do so. Or if you want to go 3rd party, this one on ebay seems to be the same thing.
