Windows 11 24H2 Update
I know there are lots of problems but I'm hoping someone with the same issue as I have may have found a solution and can share. I have a Dell Inspiron 7700 AIO computer and I use the BIST/Input Source Selection button to switch my monitor from PC to Xbox but after the above update this button will no longer switch input to my Xbox.
Please does anyone know how I can resolve the issue?
Thanks

Hello Matrix3922,
I would recommend running a system restore to the most recent recovery point. Steps to try:
1. Type in "rstrui" into your Windows Search bar. This will open the System Restore utility.
2. Click Next. This will take you to a list of automatic restore points.
3. Choose a restore point which was created on a recent date before you updated your system. Click Next.
4. Click Finish. This will restore your system which will require a reboot.
After the restore is complete, test your monitor. I would recommend disabling the particular update which caused the error and report it to Microsoft and Dell so they can patch the error. Please let me know if this helps and please feel free to ask me any questions that might arise.
Thank you, Anthony

Hi Anthony
Thank you for your reply. I can confirm that after many automatic and long downloading rectification updates from Microsoft my computer is now working again as it should.
No need to read further but if you are interested it would appear that everything was caused by the Microsoft 24/H2 update which a web search confirmed had created many problematic issues on many computers.
It was however, more complicated in my case in that I was unaware that the update had downloaded to my machine and I was also not aware that it was causing such widespread issues so my initial thoughts were that I had a computer problem and started fault finding from the wrong place.
But as I say, all sorted now and once again thank you for your reply.

@Matrix3922 I am glad that it is working properly now. Thank you for sharing an update. I didn't consider that it was running the update in the background and only needed time to finish the process. It sounds like once the update completed, the system is working again. I believe that this is a very common issue, as Windows will allow the users to work on the system, while installing and running updates in the background. In the past, we had to wait for it to finish installing before using the system. I hope that you have many good years to come with your Dell computer. Have a great day, Anthony
