What can I store on D:/?

I have a C drive and a D drive on my computer. When I first got it, someone from Dell told me that pictures, documents, etc., should go on D drive, while everything else goes on C drive.

The problem is: C drive has 98 GB of used space (6.08 free), while D drive has 33 GB of used space (898 free). Can I put apps and games on D drive? I know that would cause some slow down, but I'm ok with that. If I can do that, how do I move everything over? Like I obviously know how to hold and drag files, but moving games and apps from one drive to another seems more complex.

Thanks for your help!

For Windows 11, open Settings, select System =>  Storage =>  Advanced storage settings =>  Where new content is saved.  You will see the screen as pictured below.  Select and change each category to drive D:.  Give it time as some folder might take minutes to move to drive D:

Glad to help out.  If my answer solves your issue, considering to mark it as accepted answer.

On standard setting system, users may have to go to D drive and open up the User folder to add a new folder then name it Downloads to match with folder group from C drive.  Of course, anything can be customized as users preference.

Done, and thanks for that. This is my first time on this forum. And good point about my Downloads folder.
