Upgrading Storage

We have a Dell Inspiron 3891 and want some faster storage

On the Dell website it  says

Does this mean that a 1TB M.2 will not work  ?

No, 512 GB is just the max oem ssd Dell offers, but not the max limit of your own ssd.  you will have no problem install 1 TB or larger M.2 ssd.

Will an Inspiron 3030 be able to support the 512 GB M2 SSD that it came with (which contains the Win11 operating system) and an additional 2TB 3.5" Hard Disk for data storage?  If so, will I need to do any updates to the BIOS, etc?

No need to update BIOS if no updates are pending.

2TB 3.5" HDD will work.  Just remember to format in disk management.  Otherwise, it won't work.
