Upgrade availability to 5g or 6g?

Is it possible for me to upgrade my wifi to use 5g/6g? If so, what is the correct card to install or your suggestions to achieve this on my Inspiron 3470

Yes, you can upgrade to WiFi 5 or WiFi 6 or WiFi 6E for your Inspiron 3470. Two ways to do this:

  1. Remove existing M,2 WiFi card and install new M.2 WiFi card of your choice.
  2. Disable internal WiFi card in Device Manager and plug in external USB>WiFi dongle of your choice.

Either way, WiFi 6 (or 6E) may be a better choice.  Just keep in mind that your router/modem must also support WiFi 5, 6 or 6E to take advantage of the faster speeds and capabilities.
