Trackpad Lagging

I have a Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 that I purchased in the month of December 2024. I had not read about the lagging with the mouse until today. I decided to look because I first experienced this problem last night. If I had a mouse attached I would have thought it was a port issue.

Thus far the computer has been wonderful. I did purchase with hopes of using for an upcoming job that I will be using a wireless mouse with. After what I have read from 2021 I am not expecting the lag to stop.

I am very disappointed because I did go through 2 computers until I settled with this one. I purchased my computer from Best Buy so maybe I will have the opportunity to get something without the Dell name. I am not sure what I will purchase. I was not impressed with HP,  the Acer that I tried, I already have an Apple. The company that I will be working with does not allow the use of Apple.

So, I suppose my next step would be to take all my information off of here and work on taking the computer back. I just threw the box away last weekend because I was sure I was going to keep this computer. At that time I had not experienced any issues.

Any information would be greatly appreciated. I did look under the mouse information to see if I had accidently changed any settings. I had not.  Should I do a Dell Diagnostics. The lag is about 10 seconds are more. This no good at all.

Well I will suggest you to try the following it might help you in fixing the issue:

1.Restart Your Laptop it one of the most basic fix to try
2.Check for the Dirt or Moisture
3.Update or Reinstall Touchpad Drivers
4.Adjust Touchpad Sensitivity
5.Check for Malware or Bloatware
6.Try in Safe Mode
7.Update BIOS
