Sound card issue after installing newest drivers

I'm using an Inspiron 7700 AIO.  I recently updated drivers to bring all of them up to date.  I obviously didn't update the latest sound driver properly as after doing so, it now says no audio device is installed and I have no sound.  I have checked and it says that I have the latest drivers installed and that there are no hardware issues involved.  Question is, is there a way to fix this without a factory reset and if not, will a factory reset be my best option and will it work.  Thanks Fred

Rather a factory reset to original old settings , I suggest do a clean Windows 11 install that automatically downloads all update you need.

Hi. Thanks for the reply.  By clean windows install, do you mean a complete wipe and install or is the reset function under System/Recovery good enough with keeping my personal files option used?

Also,  for the second time since this has happened my sound has decided to return.  Last time it happened, when I started up the computer, it went to repair screen and put it back to where there was no sound.  Is it possible to stop it from doing this?  Thanks again, Fred
