secondary monitor limited to 1080x1920 even with gpu

I have an inspiron 3670 with an integrated video card. There is only 1 hdmi output for my primary monitor which is 3440x1440.  However, I wanted a secondary monitor with a high resolution so I purchased a gt730 nvidia video card and installed it into the PCIe slot. The secondary monitor native resolution is 2560x1440.  However, the secondary monitor resolution is stuck at 1920x1080.  All hardware and wires should support 2560x1440 so I wanted to confirm if this is a limitation of the motherboard?

No, you already stated that the integrated graphics output via HDMI was 3440x1440.  The second monitor stuck at 1920x1080 was connected to the GT 730.  Get a better graphics card for your multi monitor setup.

Here is the specifications for your Inspiron 3670 with the maximum video output resolution:

as per the specs you posted, the GT710 should give me 2048x1536.  Mine is a gt730 which is spec'd higher than the 710 but I'm stuck at the 1920x1080.  Why would that be?

@ray1031  - Do I assume correctly you're using the HDMI port on the GT730 GPU?

Is this GPU new or used?   Did you install the NVidia driver?

Is 2nd monitor new or used? Did you install this monitor's driver? Did you check on Windows Display screen to make sure "new" monitor is correctly recognized and its res set correctly on that screen?

If you disconnect "old" monitor from onboard Intel Graphics, does "new"monitor connected to the GPU get 2048x1536 res now?

If you connect "new" to onboard Intel Graphics, without "old" connected to GPU, what res do you get for "new" now?  And what res for each of them if you have "new" connected to Intel Graphics and "old" connected to GPU?
