Resolution capacity dual monitors
I was trying to contact technical support on this issue but the website doesn't allow it (link goes to a "bad request" web page)? When i use dual monitors (1 through hdmi port, the other through the display port) only the monitor running on the display port cable is showing the capacity to run at 2560 x 1440 resolution, which is fine. The HDMI port maxes out at 2048 x 1152. Both monitors are the same. Is there a setting i'm missing to raise the resolution on the monitor showing a lower resolution capacity or is this simply due to the graphics limitations. If this is a typical limitation i would really love to know how to spot this when shopping for a PC. I need 2 monitors to do my job and 2048 x 1152 resolution isn't sufficient.

To receive assistance from Dell chat support, they need to verify the warranty status and ownership. Then you must troubleshoot with them. Click the "Get help now" icon on the right to start a live chat session. Provide to them the private Dell PC Service Tag and Dell monitors Service Tags and all of your troubleshooting.

* What operating system?
* What GPU or added video card is in the PC?
* What monitor models?

Always include exact PC model and version of Windows in your posts. (Don't post service tag here.)
Do you have an add-in video card or only onboard Intel Graphics?
Where are monitors connected, both to add-in video card, both to onboard Intel Graphics, one to each?

Hi, inspiron 3020 windows 11 pro. Both monitors connected directly to pc (1 through hdmi port, the other through display port). I have not added any video card to the pc.

I think you already reached the maximum resolution supported by HDMI port. See notation for HDMI in display matrix for integrated video.
