operating system compatibility
I used to have a Dell 3650 desktop computer with a hybrid operating system. (W8P/W10 32/64BIT SVC DPK, part number JN38V_A00). I am purchasing a new computer and was wondering if there is a Dell computer, currently on the market, that I can use this operating system on? I have the recovery thumb drive.

Hi
Dunno.
There is always virtualisation...
https://www.virtualbox.org/
AND I do not see the relevance of "
JN38V_A00is a Dell OEM part number for a keyboard" as an operating system, hybrid or otherwise.I wish you luck.

That is the information on the package the recovery drive came in. It is a hybrid Windows 8/10 operating system.

Dell would not officially support dual booting. Nor would we support older operating systems that are EOL. So driver support for W8/10 will not be validated for any of our newer systems. You could certainly attempt reinstalling the OS with that hybrid thumb drive, but there are no guarantees that it will work on our newer systems.

Current new Dell desktop on the market do not typically have Windows 10, and definitely no Windows 8. If you move the UEFI boot ssd/hdd from 3650 to a new Dell and try to boot from it (F12 and choose UEFI: old drive skipping new boot drive) it may boot from old Windows 10 but uncertain from old Windows 8. Chances are it would fail to load Windows 8. All the drivers of new desktop would be different from 3650. While old Windows 10 in new pc may manage to DL new drivers, Windows 8 is less capable. We know old Windows 7 had known problem adjusting to new hardware. If you want to use dual 8/10 on new PC it is easier to attempt clean install 8 and 10 separately on different partition of boot drive. Even then you may have a hard time searching for Win 8 driver to support new hardware. You may need to search outside Dell for Win 8 video/audio/network drivers for say 600 chipset motherboard and cpu
