Not booting PXE-E61 and PXE-MOF

Inspiron 7459

Inspiron 7459

Was stuck on “did not shut down correctly” would not boot. Completed full diagnostic test via bios, all passed.

Attempts automatic repair.

Now goes to PXE-E61 and PXE-MOF after automatic repair.

Tried to boot off windows 10 usb, won’t move past windows logo and spinning dots.

Tried another windows 10 usb reinstall and getting this loop now.

Top of the list is a failing or failed drive.   F12 at powerup, boot to the Dell diagnostics and run a full system test.

Try resetting BIOS to see if you can clear the Preboot eXecution Environment (PXE) errors...

  1. Reboot and start tapping F2 when you see the Dell splash screen to open BIOS setup
  2. Copy down all current BIOS settings, to be safe
  3. Power off, unplug power adapter from PC
  4. Press/hold power button for ~15 sec
  5. Put PC face down on clean/soft cloth to avoid scratching the LCD panel
  6. Remove base cover
  7. Remove motherboard battery
  8. Press/hold PC's power button for ~30 sec
  9. Install fresh CR2032 battery with Molex connector, making sure red/black wires in new battery connector have same orientation as old connector.
  10. Reinstall base
  11. See if it boots now...
