Monitor audio not working
Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 5400 AIO but the screen has cracked. I have plans to fix it (I know the price is £400 - £500 maybe more) but until I do, I have been using a Dell E2424HS monitor with built-in speakers to connect to it. But ever since I bought it, the built in speakers have not worked. Can someone provide me with a solution?

Did you install the E2424HS monitor driver on the AIO?
Is audio enabled on the monitor's own On-Screen Display (OSD)?
Doesn't look like this monitor has a standard 3.5 mm audio input port (typically green) that you'd connect to the 3.5 mm audio output port on PC.
I assume you're using the HDMI-OUT from PC to monitor's HDMI-IN. So you have to configure Windows (what version?), the NVidia Control Panel, and the monitor's OSD to use audio over HDMI. Windows may currently be set to use RealTek Audio for PC's own speakers...

Hi, thanks for your answer. I've downloaded the monitor driver and audio is enabled on the OSD. My version of Windows is Windows 11 and yes, the current speakers are set to use Realtek Audio

Re: ever since I bought it, the built in speakers have not worked
that issue is not related to cracked screen. I have same model with cracked screen too but speakers work perfectly. you can chat with Dell support if the pc is still within warranty. audio not working is still covered despite cracked screen.

@Rohaan - It's my understanding of your issue that you want to use the speakers inside your E2424HS external monitor, instead of the onboard speakers in the AIO. Is that correct? Or are you saying the "...the built in speakers [in the AIO] have not worked..." since you bought it?
If you want to use the speakers in the external monitor, you have to configure Windows to use audio over HDMI. Read fix-hdmi-audio-not-working-in-windows-11.
You probably need to follow item #4 - Manually Select HDMI Output From Sound Settings to configure Windows. You need to choose the NVidia HDMI option instead of Realtek.
Then, from your desktop, open the NVidia Control Panel and click Display>Set Up Digital Audio to make sure those settings are correct for the external monitor.
