Inverted19/20 pin USB female cable?

Hi all,

I am making some changes to my Dell Inspiron desktop and noticed that the front panel USB Audio Card Reader Board has two 19/20 pin USB female cables that connect to the motherboard. One of them is the standard blue cable but the other is a yellow variant with the pin layout inverted from the standard; this prevents the cable from being plugged into regular USB header ports, and I can't simply flip it as there is a plastic locking bump.

May I ask if anyone knows the official name for this version of the cable and or if there is an adapter for it to be plugged into regular 19/20 pin USB headers? Thank you.

Inspiron 5675 motherboard has proprietary USB3 header such as the yellow one labelled as USB 3.0 cable connector

@redxps630 Thank you for your prompt reply. While I recognize that the 5675/6 models have that proprietary USB header. I'm attempting to retain my 5675 chassis and front USB panel while using a 5680 mobo. Everything tied out nicely except for the lack of that proprietary USB header on the 5680 mobo. I apologize for not including this aspect of the inquiry in my initial post.

Am attempting to utilize a "PCI-E X1 to 2 Ports 19 Pin USB 3.0 Header PCI Express to Dual 20 Pin USB 3.0 Card" to substitute the lack of that proprietary USB header.

some of the 5675 board does not have the black 20 pin USB type C header

(it is not soldered)

CRD,PLN,MB,INS DT,SUMMIT,5675.

spec:

  • One USB 3.1 Gen 1 (Type-C) port (only with computers shipped with AMD Ryzen 3/Ryzen 5/Ryzen 7 processors)
  • Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports (only with computers shipped with AMD Ryzen 3/Ryzen 5/Ryzen 7 processors)

I guess some of the 5675 with these non Ryzen cpu do not have USB type C

  • 7th Generation AMD A10-9700 Quad-Core APU with Radeon R7 graphics

@redxps630 thank for your prompt and informative replies. Do you know if there is an adapter for that proprietary USB header into a regular USB header?

If not, do you think it’s advisable/plausible to remove that proprietary port form a donor 5675 motherboard and solder it to the aforementioned PCIe card?

Thank you again.

I doubt there is such an adapter

I don’t think it’s good idea to solder a header
