Intel Dynamic Memory Boost question
PC is a Dell Inspiron 3030 desktop with i7 14700. There is no option to enable XMP etc in the bios.
Upgraded ram from 16gb single channel to 64gb dual. Very surprised to find that this triggered the timings to change from JEDEC to XMP, and XMP is permanently on now. No settings were changed. This is not how DMB is supposed to work based on my understanding. DMB should be adjusting memory frequencies on the fly to meet the system's demands, plus it must be enabled in bios (which is not possible on this pc), and dual channel ram is not even mentioned as relevant. Anyone know whats going on? Is there something wrong ?
