Inspiron 7720's HDMI Out Port
Inspiron 27 7720 All-in-One
I have connected the HDMI out port on my Inspiron 7720 to a speaker pair's HDMI ARC input hoping to play audio from the speakers via HDMI. The speakers play fine (and sound excellent) when pair via a Bluetooth connection with the desktop, but I felt that the HDMI connection would be better. Is it possible to receive an audio signal from the Inspiron's HDMI out or am I wasting my time trying?

Computers typically don’t have ARC built in. to get around this, you can use an ARC-enabled TV as your computer monitor. run an HDMI cable from your computer to the TV, then connect a second HDMI cable from the TV hdmi out (arc) to the sound bar’s ARC input.

While it's possible to receive audio signals from HDMI, you already connected the speakers via Bluetooth, there is no need to get it setup with a less optimal connection.
Any type of digital connections will give you the same sounds quality from the same speakers. Since the playback source will be the same, unaltered digital format. But, the Bluetooth connection will give you a better experience (of wireless) without the constraint of HDMI cable.
