7700 is already out of stock on Dell page as they are promoting 12th gen models. 7700 was configured w Win 10 home as standard config. You can do a clean install of Win 10 pro yourself. Just do not delete the factory reset partition on hdd.

Your post is a bit confusing. By spec do you mean can Windows 10 be installed on the 7700 and in that case yes the support page for the 7700 has Windows 10 drivers.

Can I buy a 7700 with win10 pro instead of the win11 home offered on the sales pages as I'm having to get refunded on my new 7700 as it locked itself up trying to load an update to win 11

If the PC comes with Win 11 Home, you'll have to purchase a new license from Microsoft to downgrade to Win 10 Pro, but not to downgrade to Win 10 Home.
Will any downgrade to Win 10 disable access to the Win 11 factory reset partition?
