Inspiron 5680 power button isn't working
My Inspiron 5680's power button has stopped working. It can shut off the PC, but that's all it can do. It can't turn it back on.
When the desktop is in sleep mode, pressing the keyboard or the power button turns it off completely.
I did the usual thinks, switching out the CMOS battery, checking the BIOS and loading the defaults, and nothing's worked.
The PSU BIST button on the back does work, the LED is solid green and strangely, when I press it it powers on my PC as if it's the power button. Pressing the power button then fully turns on the PC.
Once it's on, the system functions completely normal, nothing to indicate that there's something wrong. I haven't done anything to the PC prior to this.
Could it be a ram issue? I previously had a issue with my ram stick freezing my PC, but when I reseat it, it gets fixed. This is the only thing I could think that might be a problem.
The PSU is fine. I got a fresh CMOS battery installed. Everything else from the GPU, CPU, hardrives, and even the suspicious ram stick all are functioning 100% normal when the PC is on.
