Inspiron 5680 Nouveau SSD
Bonjour,

The CPU has nothing to do with SSD compatibility -- the SSD will work with the system. It just will not run at full speed due to the relatively old hardware in the system.

Thank you for your reply. Is there any way to make this SSD compatible? Would I need to change the CPU, for example?:"ejn63

The system will take that SSD but run it at reduced speed - it does not support PCIe 5 speeds. While there are PCIe cards that will take the SSD, if your plan is to use it as a boot drive you may run into issues.

I see both an M.2 SSD connector and a PCI-Express x4 slot on the motherboard. However, I'm not sure if it's compatible or which one I should use. Does anyone have the answer, please?"
