Inspiron 530 motherboard quad support

"There are two versions of the 530, one version has a 300w power supply and a FoxConn G33m02 motherboard, this version does not support Core 2 Quad processors, only Core 2 Duo, Pentium Dual-Core and Celeron processors.
The second version has 350w power supply and a FoxConn G33m03 motherboard, this supports both, Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Duo processors,"

I was not lucky to get hold of such a mobo to test but I had hands on experience with multiple G33m02 nonquad boards, some in 530, some in Vostro 200

some board would mention dual, some do not, so the G33m02 is the most reliable way to tell.

Tested on a few of those. Overclocked one CPU too. A couple of them is still in service, running Win 11 last time I checked. There is few websites with collections of legacy boards diagrams, technical details, and support drivers for these lost souls. Just resurrect an Intel Skyberg board and will try a Dimension 9200 next. Just want to see if they can run the latest Win 11.

I think the 530 was my official first Dell desktop pc.
the quad boards are similar to those in Vostro 400

I think Vostro used G45 Eaglelake instead of G33 Bearlake.

Vostro 400 is G33

looks like Dell updated model number/bios for vostro from 200 to 400 but kept the 530 model when a better motherboard is used
