Inspiron 530, maximum RAM exceeded?
I am just wondering if anyone knows (or have experienced) what could happen if I install more RAM that what my system is rated for? My Insprion 530 is 8GB. If I stick in maybe 16GB, what will happen? will only 8GB still be usable? will it even boot up?

The Inspiron 530 can support up to 4 GB and 8 GB of memory depending on certain motherboard version. If your system could support 8 GB of RAM and you are installing 16 GB of RAM, the system won't boot.
