Inspiron 530, heatsink metals
Which is better metal for a heatsink? I've seen Aluminum and Copper. What are the pros and cons of each? Are there any other metals out there can are good for use on one?

Al: light good heating conducting
Cu: heavier than Al but better heat conducting
Dell oem heatsink for Inspiron is mostly Al. a few high performance heatsink are Cu.
If it is a liquid cooler it is almost always Cu

@redxps630 , so unless I turn my machine into a high end gaming PC, Copper really isn't needed?
My Insprion 530 I bought is just a hobby project. Been wanting to do this for a few years. Max out everything it can handle. I don't plan on playing any games in 4K or any CAD or high performance. Im pretty sure Aluminum will be best suited. The most I do plan on using it for are games in 1080p, 60fps.

stock cooler should be ok. you can monitor CPU temp. I think most likely it is fine.
