INSPIRON 3910 will not wake up hisense 40a45h monitor

I leave Inspiron 3910 in sleep mode after each use. Monitor is HMDI-connected Hisense 40A45H Smart TV . To resume, when I press any key, the 3910 appears to be waking up, but the Hisense TV does not come on. I have to press "Input" on Hisense remote, then "OK" to select the already-displaying HDMI 1. This is the first time ever that I've not been able to find settings on a monitor or desktop to seamlessly work together. I will appreciate any suggestions...
