Inspiron 3910, fastest CPU Upgrade?
On Userbenchmark.com, 2 users successfully added a 12900k CPU to the Inspiron 3910 but the CPU Bench is at 100% compared to 112% that users of the 12700 are getting.
Which CPU is faster for the Inspiron 3910?
Can the Inspiron 3910 really maintain a base clock of 3.2 GHz in the 125 watt TDP 12900k without thermal problems?
Would the 12900 CPU with a 65 watt TDP work better?

Thermal designs can handle 180w in turbo mode. It should has been outfitted with proper CPU cooler and fans. As long as it could perform in effective mode, it will or should maintain the same in base clock mode.
Beside thermal, sufficiency power will keep CPU performance from being throttled. Therefore, staying within voltage regulator and design thermal would provide optimal performance. I'd say a 65w CPU works better.
