INSPIRON 3891 - Both WIFI and ETHERNET - Connected, No Internet ???

My Inspiron 3891 (purchased in 2021) will not connect to the internet - wifi and ethernet same result. Connects to the router, is secured, but NO INTERNET. This started happening after my APC UPS battery backup failed. It must have affected the PC in some way. Tried a USB - WIFI and a USB Ethernet replacement, but they also CONNECT - NO INTERNET. I have BIOS-DISABLED the internal WLAN, same result. I have DEVICE MANAGER disabled the onboard com device in order to assure that the USB WIFI and ETHERNET units were being used, but still NO INTERNET? I suspect some sort of issue on the motherboard.

I wonder if there is anyone in the Community who might have a helpful suggestion regarding this issue?

Hi

Try one, some, all or none of the following...

ping 127.0.0.1 & ping 13.107.4.52

ping 192.168.0.1 & ping 192.168.1.1

tracert 13.107.4.52 (if the ping works)

tracert to any ping that works

netsh interface ip show interface

netsh lan show interfaces | more /c

powershell Get-NetAdapter

ipconfig /all

I feel that if there is a hookup to the router, then the DEFAULT GateWay may need setting/adjusting.

If in doubt please ask.
