Hi,
The issue you're encountering with the USB ports and CD/DVD drive could be caused by a number of factors, including software or driver-related problems, hardware issues, or system conflicts. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
Restart your computer: Sometimes simply restarting your computer can resolve the issue.
Update your drivers: You may need to update the drivers for the USB ports or CD/DVD drive. Go to the Dell Support website, enter your computer model and operating system, and then download the latest drivers for your USB ports and CD/DVD drive.
Check for system conflicts: It's possible that there may be a conflict between the USB ports and other system components. Check for any system conflicts by going to Device Manager, right-click on the USB controllers, and then select Properties.
Check for hardware issues: If the issue persists, it may be a hardware issue. Try connecting the USB stick or CD/DVD drive to another computer and see if it works. If it does, then the issue is with your computer and you may need to have it serviced.
If these steps don't resolve the issue, you may need to contact Dell Support for further assistance.

@fink5155 Do you know what download(s) got installed? Was it a BIOS update?
Do keyboard and mouse still work?
