Inspiron 27 7790 All in one desktop how to add 2 external HDMI HD monitors
Hi, We have several of these PC’s around and the users would like to add a second external 1920x1080 monitor. The HDMI is going to the first external monitor.
All monitors will be part of the same extended Windows 11 desktop, so we don’t need to duplicate a screen we need 3 individual screens. Obviously one of the screens will be the built in screen.
Are there devices or changes to the hardware that can be made so the PC to allow a second HD monitor to be connected? For example, can the wireless card be removed and its connector used with a graphics card of some sort?
I’ve noticed there are some devices which allow extended desktop but these use the DisplayPort and not HDMI.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

About the only way to do this is with a displaylink adapter.

Hi We've tried a USB-C to HDMI cable, which works with other equipment, but not on these PC's. Google search Ai appears to think . . . But I could retry a few things
The Dell Inspiron 27-7790 AIO (All-in-One) computer does not natively support using a USB port for video output to an external monitor. While it has multiple USB ports, including a USB-C port, these are primarily for data transfer and connecting peripherals like storage devices, not for video output. The primary video output ports are HDMI ports, and one of them can also be used as an HDMI input.
Here's a breakdown:
USB for Video:
The USB ports on the Inspiron 27-7790 are not designed for direct video output to a monitor.

A USB-C to HDMI cable will not work for the reason you specify, which is why you need a displaylink adapter, which uses software to enable video out over USB ports that otherwise do not support it.
The displaylink software then handles the video output.

Arh, OK, super. Thank you. I'll look for a Displayport USB device and go from there.
Thank you
