Inspirion 3470 Power issue

Inspirion 3740 power supply light turns on but fan does not spin used switch method to test power supply fan worked. Issues is when power supply plug in by itself light comes on then turns off no fan.. when plugged into motherboard same thing..thing is the power supply was working fine everything turned on and all all of a sudden I get the problem mentioned above
