I have an Inspiron 5680 i tried to upgrade it recently with an Rx580 2048sp but it hasnt displayed to my monitor.

I bought an Rx580 2048sp my pc specs are:

Cpu: i7-8700

Gpu: gtx 1060

Ram 16gb DDr4

i read on a website that it would be compatible but now im not sure ive checked my cables and my psu(460w) so im not sure what the problem could be.

RX580 typically needs an 8 pin PCIe connector.  what is your RX580 model

your Dell stock 460w psu may have a 6 pin which can be adapted to an 8 pin.

the card is compatible but sometimes AMD RX board needs some bios trick per user report.  try turn off or on secure boot in bios.

@redxps630 also would my BIOS version be at fault for it not displaying?

Just a few general things:

1. Did you use DDU/any other driver remover to completely remove the NVIDIA drivers from your PC (while in safe mode) and then download new AMD drivers?

2. Are you actually plugged into the graphics card for display?

3. Are you sure the card actually worked and wasn't sold to you as faulty?

@Dmen16 I haven’t Uninstalled my NVIDIA drivers yet as i didn't think it would be a problem ill try that. Also im almost 100% sure the card works as both fans and Rgb work jiat no display

Re: im almost 100% sure the card works as both fans and Rgb work no display

that is not a 100% guarantee though.  fans/rgb work just mean card receives power.  let's assume card works for now.

try to use the same video cable that you used for GTX1060 to test RX580.

try turn on or off secure boot in bios, for which you would need to see video before you can enter bios.

what you can do is try connect a DP video cable to onboard video port before install any video card, make sure that port still gives video.  then power off pc and install the RX 580.  power on again.  If RX580 is detected you may get an error on monitor because it detects a card but video cable is connected to onboard video port.  if no error ok too.  try to boot into Windows using the onboard video, go inside dev mgr to see if a second video adapter is listed.
