How to install a 2nd SSD on Inspiron 3910

Based on the Dell on-line help with parts, I ordered a Dell M.2 PCIe NVMe Gen 3x4 Class 35 2230 Solid State Drive - 1TB for extra storage.  The instructions included are fairly worthless as is the service guide.  For the life of me I cannot figure out out to install a 2nd SSD (not replace the existing).  I've been puttering with computers for 20 years and have never had a problem before.  Anybody know if this is possible?  And if so, where the heck do I put it and hook it up to power?   There is not a mounting bracket for a traditional HD but plenty of SATA power points

Inspiron 3910 only has one M.2 slot for an  NVME SSD. See motherboard pic here. So you can't install a second NVME SSD directly. (The other M.2 slot is only for a WiFi card.)

And unfortunately the 3910 only has one PCI-e x1 slot. So assuming you can find a PCI-e>NVME adapter card that works in an x1 slot, the SSD speed is going to be slow.

You might be better off returning the NVME SSD (if possible) and getting a 2.5" SATA SSD, with a tray to install it into a 3.5" drive bay, like one of these offered by Crucial.

Or, perhaps replace the existing SSD with this new 1T SSD which might give you enough storage space on one drive.

If you don't have an add-in video card, you might be able to use a PCI-e x4>NVME adapter in the PCI-e x16 slot on the motherboard, but you'd have to do some homework to see if anyone has used the x16 slot in the Inspiron  3910 for anything other than a video card.
