How can I transfer games from one pc to another?

Switched to a new Dell Slim Desktop and want to know what is the best or fastest way to transfer games from old pc to this new computer. The game files are pretty big and there are more than 100 GB in size. I tried using WiFi but the transfer speed is not good and the transfer got interrupted for two times. Could someone share a reliable and fast way to transfer large games files from one pc to another? I am running out ideals now!

By the way, the new PC comes with latest Windows 11 25H2. The old computer is running Windows 10 22H2.

When you need to transfer games from one PC to another, especially for platform-specific titles like Steam and Epic Games, you can follow these simple, no-re-download methods to save time and bandwidth.

Steam Game Transfer Method

  • Old Computer Procedure: Open Steam → Navigate to “Settings” → Select “Downloads” → Locate “Steam Library Folders”.
  • Copy the entire steamapps folder to an external storage device.
  • New Computer Procedure: Install Steam → Navigate to Settings → Select “Downloads” → Library Folders → Add the copied folder as a game library.
  • Launch Steam; games will display as ‘Existing files detected’ and require no redownload.

Epic Games Transfer Method

  • Old computer: Copy the Epic Games folder (default path: C:\Program Files\Epic Games).
  • New computer: Install Epic Launcher → Set launcher path to copied folder.

Verify each game within the launcher to restore access.
