gtx 1650 supper and inspiron 3910

ok this is paul. i have a question. i just got an evga geforce 1650 super and my question is after the card is inserted in to the pcie x16 slot by my person who is helping me with the install of the card i get an error saying please power down and connect the pcie power cable to the graphics card. and after further inbestigation me and my person that is installing the card find out that the power supply only has a 4-pin connection on the power supply. the power supply is 180 watts. i have a ssd 256 gb and a western digital hard drive in the machine also after market the ssd is the original ssd that came with the pc and as far as the psu that is what came from the factory. <Private data removed from public view. To upgrade video card that requires PCIe power connector, you need to upgrade the power supply as well.  Review this discussion as it has some information about compatible power supply  https://www.dell.com/community/en/conversations/inspiron-desktops/upgrade-the-psu-for-inspiron-3910/647f9f7ef4ccf8a8de4536a7

hi this is paul. i have a question. i have just got an evga gtx 1650 super. my question is during the installation process after installing the card in the pc i got an error saying to please power down and connect the pcie power cable however when we looked further in to the cause of the error the cable is a 6 pin connector and the connection on the psu wich is 180 watts is a 4 pin connection. does this mean that i would have to replace the psu with a bigger psu with more wattage given the card has 6 pins where as the psu has only 4 pins.

Correct, you would have to replace the PSU with a more powerful PSU and with PCIe cables for graphics cards.  Only specific PSU can support with the 3910.  Review the link I sent for PSU info.
