G5 5000 Corrupt BIOS
Dell G5 5000
I have today done a firmware update via windows and now my computer says my bios is corrupt. I have tried ctrl + esc and then all three options to recover and it either goes into a loop or says my bios cannot be downgraded. I have downloaded to a usb pen drive the bios from the dell website but I cannot get an option to load from usb either from the above or by pressing F12.
Can someone please advise how I can get a working bios on my computer so I can use it !

Create the BIOS recovery USB drive: go to your system BIOS page https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/driversdetails?driverid=yy6jp&oscode=wt64a&productcode=g-series-5000-desktop. Select to download BIOS recovery image file BIOS_IMG.rcv and put that on a FAT32 formatted USB.
Temporarily remove the boot drive from your system. Connect the USB containing BIOS recovery image and perform BIOS recovery process. Generally, press and hold Ctrl + Esc key then introducing power to your system. When you see the keyboard light lights up, release the Ctrl + Esc key and the process will start. Detail for BIOS recovery can be reviewed here https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/en-us/000132453/how-to-recover-the-bios-on-a-dell-computer-or-tablet

If your USB pen drive is larger than 8 GB, it won't be recognized by BIOS Recovery. So use either a 2 or 4 GB stick...
