G5 5000, COD BO7 is telling me to update my bios

My BIOS firmware is up to its most recent release for my 2020 G5 5000 desktop. But the game notification won't go away in Call of Duty Black Ops 7. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FOUND A FIX: Re-install windows on your PC from a USB thumb drive, do a clean install. I can finally play ranked now

@Warny530a5f This did not fix the issue for me. I did a full clean windows 11 install from a USB, reinstalled the updates, confirmed TPM 2.0 was turned on and secure boot is turned on and I still get the error and cannot play ranked play. @DELL-Nat M Can you please provide an update to this issue? I fear your engineers just skipped past the message and were able to play multiplayer but our issue is that Ricochet anti-cheat requires the BIOS firmware to be up to date to play Ranked Play.

We need a BIOS update stat to address this issue.

Please respond ASAP

After all night and trying everything, I finally got it to work. Here’s everything I did when it finally started working:

- Installed windows from a USB as a clean install

- Installed the latest BIOS from the Dell Drivers page (I did NOT use SupportAssist, I used the other program.)

- Turned off TPP and clicked apply, then turned it back on and clicked apply. Same for secure boot.

- Under Windows Updates, go to advanced updates, drivers, downloaded the latest Dell Firmware package.

- Reinstalled Call of Duty

- This is what I think finally did it. I clicked reset settings on the bottom right and verified SecureBoot and TPP stayed on. When I booted windows again, it asked me for my bitlocker key which you can find here: aka.ms/myrecoverykey

Once I entered my bitlocker key again, I had to reset my PIN for my PC. After that, I booted Call of Duty and had no issues.

@Jonhy 473 I have the same issue with my Dell G5 5000. Latest BIOS 1.29 dated July 2025. PPT and Secure Boot enabled in BIOS. TPM v2.0 reporting ready to use in Windows 11. Secure Boot State ON reported by Windows. Unable to get past this BIOS Update message. I can play the game without issue on an older Asus Prime Z390-A with BIOS dated 2024. Very disappointed.

I opened a case with Activision.  After multiple back and forth answering their questions and providing logs and evidence the case was escalated to the "Higher Team".  That team came back with the very basic "contact your hardware manufacturer".  Most likely we need a BIOS upgrade to upgrade the TPM firmware.  I am unable to open a Dell Support call at this time because I had to process an ownership transfer first for my service tag from the previous owner.  This should take about 2 weeks.  Once that is completed I will open a ticket with Dell.  In the meantime the other users affected should do the same.

Are all G5 5000 users on TPM 2.0?

What is the TPM version?

* Click left Windows icon on taskbar
* Type cmd
* Click Command Prompt
* Type tpmtool getdeviceinformation <press Enter>

* Or press the Windows key
* Type tpm.msc <press Enter>

I contacted the service chat, but they can`t help me. They said: Dells BIOS is working "fine". I should contact activion.

Activion said contact Dell for a new BIOS. Maybe we should ask more often for a new BIOS.

I have a Dell G5 500 and COD BO7 comes up with a TPM 2.0 fail and want me to make a BIOS Update. I already checked all known steps: UEFI Boot, GPT harddrive, TPM 2.0 is working, secure boot is on, latest BIOS update (1.29.1) is running.
