Drivers for Inspiron one 2020 running Windows 7 Ultimate

Found an Inspiron one 2020 with a crashed HDD. I need a machine to run and app that only support Windows 7/8/8.1 so I purchased it for a whopping $6.37. Upgraded the CPU (i5-2400S), RAM (2x4gb SODIMM), and HDD is now Crucial MX500 1TB SSD. No original Windows 7 Home Premium (has COA) recovery ISO/DVD available so I installed my own Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. This went well, but some drivers not installed.

In particular none of the network drivers installed and am working on the computer away from my workshop. I need wifi drivers. This 2020 has a 1703 mini-pci-e card. I have downloaded 1703/1705 and 1704/1708 drivers from Dell support, across my tennis-shoe network, but am getting an entry point error in what seems to be a missing DLL. I can get the install log if that would help, just have to put my tennis-shoes on again.

I figure if I can get a wifi driver installed and connect through my network (without my tennis shoes) then I should be able to let Microsoft and Dell deal with most/all of the rest. Has anyone a link for the 1703 Mini-PCI-e WiFi in this ol' AIO 2020?

Thanks for your help.

I realize you've spent $$ upgrading that 2020 so you could run the app, but have you tried installing and running that app on a Win 10/11 PC with Windows set to run it in Compatibility Mode for either Win 7 or 8.1?  That might save you lots of time/effort futzing with the 2020.

Otherwise, open Device Manager on the 2020 and click View>Show hidden. Then search everywhere in DM for any 'Unknown" devices. If you find any, right-click and uninstall each of them.

Next, see if the 1703 card is listed in DM. If listed, check its error status. If no errors reported, reboot PC and see if it works now. If not listed, click Action>Scan for hardware changes and see if it appears and works now.

I cannot confirm if this will work but at the MS Download Catalogue page here, they have Windows 8 drivers and it may be worth a try. That download catalogue is a wealth of information for drivers but does not seem to go back as far as Windows 7. Make sure you go to the last 2 pages for those older drivers.

Also try this page at Treexy.

Finally got all drivers loaded and recognized. The 1703 is the same family as the 1705 so that driver got it working. From there I could load things from my NAS.

Tried the IDE app under W10 and no go. Had given up until I found this little AIO gem at GoodWill. Anyway, SSD went in yesterday. My Windows 7 Ultimate (64-bit) in today. Biggest conflict was the generic MS VGA driver. This AIO 2020 has Intel HD GPU. Once that was in other things, WMP, started working. I found it also can take the AVermedia H339 Hybrid TV Mini-PCI-e card so got that in too. Need to find an antenna that will work with it. WMC sees it and tried to find stations, but no signal. Oh well, that's for after the project and the computer goes into an RV.
