Does Inspiron 3020 have 8 pin connector for GPU/Can it support a 5600 XT

I have recently ordered an Inspiron 3020 because I needed a CPU upgrade, with the plan of putting in my current GPU (5600 XT) instead of ordering a version with a GPU since my current GPU is plenty capable. I have now began panicking because I have seen some posts that indicate the 3020 without a GPU may not support my graphics card due to the power supply in the 3020 and lack of correct pin connectors. Can I just use the power supply from my current PC, or just take the 8 pin connector? Please help this is so confusing. I thought the Inspiron should easily be able to take my GPU since there are options to include newer GPUs like the 3060 and 3050 in the 3020 on Dell's website. All the GPU's that Dell lists for the 3020 also take the same 8 pin connector my 5600 XT uses, so shouldn't it work too?

If it helps, I am currently running an Inspiron 5680, with a 5600 XT rather than a 1060 and the original power supply, and had no issues installing the GPU.

If you intended to use the 5600 XT, you must order the computer with big enough chassis for fitment with a power supply of 500w or more to have 8-pin power connector for video card.

Check with your system specs to find out which options you had selected so you won't be disappointed if it does not meet your expectation.

@Chino de Oro The GPU itself will fit in the case. Also there is not an option on Dell's website to change the PSU alone, the PSU only changes if you select other options like GPUs

Look like one out of two requirements is met.  Regardless of the purchase option to select PSU was available with or without a discrete graphics card selection, you need to verify which PSU is shipped with your order.  That information would help to determine the availability of an 8-pin power connector for your 5600 XT.

@Chino de Oro My order details say it has the 180W PSU.

With that 180w power supply, it will not support any discrete graphics that required a power connector.  Knowing the 3020 won't support your add-on video card, you should make plan for how to proceed with the return of the system.

@Chino de Oro Can I just swap out the power supply with the one in my current system? It is a Dell Inspiron 5680, or can I just order the 300W power supply somewhere?

@Chino de Oro I would be completely willing to just order the 300W power supply and swap it out with the 180W one. If you could provide a link that would be perfect.

While Dell Inspiron 5680 can take a standard ATX power supply, the Inspiron 3020 uses a proprietor build PSU.  There are three power supply options:  180w, 300w, and 460w.  Customers could select the PSU options at purchase point.  It was listed under chassis option, if it was available.

To upgrade the power supply after sale, you can check with Dell Spare Parts at (800) 348-6147 for CRU (customer replaceable unit).  Or you can search at the big auction site.  Be sure to purchase from sellers with good ratings and provide free return.
