DELL INSPIRON 5675 M.2 SSD SLOT HELP
I have a 5675 Ryzen 7. Currently I have an 960 Evo 250 gb 2280
as a boot drive in the top slot (2) for PCIe. I also have 2 HDDs. I want to add another SSD in the SSD SATA M.2 (1) slot located below the graphics card area, keeping the PCIe os boot. I’m not clear what SSDI can put there. It says its a SATA slot buy the socket looks like a PCIe. Only 2 tabs not 3 like SATA SSDs. What can I put there@ is it also a 2280 PCIe? Also what is the max size for this slot?
Thanks

you can install M.2 SATA ssd in that socket, length of ssd is 80 mm. It is called M.2 2280 sata ssd.
you can also install M.2 NVMe/PCIe ssd in that socket, same length. It is called M.2 2280 NVMe ssd.
you are correct that the onboard M.2 socket/slot has one tab (M-key). the onboard M.2 slot has M-key which can physically fit both NVMe ssd (M-key) or SATA ssd (M+B-key).
since you have the Ryzen cpu, the M.2 socket can support both M.2 NVMe and M.2 sata ssd.
the motherboard prints SATA ssd, but spec says both type of ssd supported if cpu is Ryzen.

Thanks. I was thinking that. The specs also say SSD can only be 256 gb? I want to put in a 2T SSD. It also says HDD can only be 2T and I’m running a 4T with no problem.

I recently mirrored my hard OS HDD to a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB in the M.2 2 slot and everything is running fine. I decided to add another Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB to the M.2 1 slot under the Graphics Card but am having problems getting the Bios to see the Drive. Need some held please
