Dell Inspiron 3030 PSU

XPS 8960

XPS 8960

My 3030 came with a 180-watt power supply looking to upgrade to the 460 watts so I can add a video card instead onboard video.  Any ideas of the correct part# that is compatible for the 3030.

3030 is a very new model so sales info is scant but we know these Dell 12/13/14th gen desktop psu are interchangeable and can be used off label. For instance Inspiron 3910 compatible model (user validated 500w) is c/w 3020 and by extension 3030.  Optiplex 7000/7010 (and 7020) 500w psu psu are c/w Inspiron 3910 and 3020.

@redxps630 I found two PSUs on E-Bay.  One is 460-watt and the other is the TPX56 500-watt PSU.  The 460-watt is $109 and the 500-watt is $119, both are new in the box and say they are for Inspiron 3030.  Thanks for your help.

@redxps630 No luck finding any of the part numbers listed above that as a consumer you can purchase.  I don't understand when you search on Dell's web site for the 4H6F4 nothing comes up.  I talked to Dell sales and tech support; item is not in stock but still I'd like to check on stock daily instead having to call in.  Dell won't even send me the link to the item.  I know if I were to buy a new Inspiron 3030 with a Nvidia video card in it this time I'd have a 460-watt PSU.  Never have I had a problem with Dell until now.

@redxps630 Power supply TPX56 500w came in today from Ebay (from China) and worked like you said, thanks again Dell tech support was no help.  They had me order a refurbished one from Dell and it kept being delayed over and over.

I followed the advice of the above contributors.  Worked perfect.  Took about two weeks to arrive

@SparkAF is this compatible with the small format 3030s?

@Nitrous2023 It worked in mine plug and play.  I only added an RTX 3050 Low Profile in my wife's 3030 because she only surfs the net.  I cut a hole in the side panel to add an intake fan and got rid of the CPU duct to the rear.  Average CPU temp and video card is about 39 Celsius.
