DELL INSPIRON 20 3043, disables the mouse, keyboard and touch screen, and does not allow booting from USB.

Greetings, I have a DELL Inspiron 20 3043, which has had a problem for a couple of years now, for which I have not found a solution, nor have they been able to give me answers: as it was very slow, I restarted it (restore system) from the factory, and start the process of reinstalling windows, on the language selection screen, it does not allow to mark neither by mouse, nor by touch screen nor keyboard, to continue with the installation. I have tried to boot the system from USB, but I think the BIOS is blocked or outdated, since it does not allow booting from another source than the original hard drive that came from the factory. If someone could help me I would appreciate it.

You cannot put drives from any other PC in this one and expect it to boot. So forget about that.

Go here and use the Microsoft tool to create a bootable USB with the Win 8.1 installer on it. Use an empty 8 GB or 16 GB USB. You can create the USB stick on any PC, selecting the option for "installing on another PC" when you create the stick.

Important: Set BIOS back to its default settings, including UEFI BIOS. After setting to defaults, look for an option for USB boot support and make sure it's set to Enabled. Be sure to save the change and exit setup

Next, plug that Win 8.1 USB into the PC with power off. Power PC on and start tapping F12 to open the boot menu. Select the option to boot from USB and it should load and run the installer correctly.

Which version of Windows came with it originally?

If you restored to from-the-factory condition, then the BIOS has nothing to do with it.

To rule out hardware problems, reboot, F12 and run Dell Diagnostics.

@garondon7  Have you tried a wired USB keyboard?

There are three USB2 ports on the side of the screen, so try each of them, if necessary....

I must comment that the BIOS is InsydeH20 Rev.5.0, the bootloader only allows me to start in UEFI mode, I would like to modify it to be able to reinstall windows through a USB or insert another hard drive, I have tried to insert another hard drive, but I the message appears: no device available.

Yes, I have tried connecting both wired mice and keyboards, but it still does not recognize them.

When entering the DELL DIAGNOSTICS menu, the PC recognizes it and I can manipulate it with the mouse, keyboard and touch screen. when exiting this menu and restarting the pc, it enters the WINDOWS installation menu where it asks to select the language, it is on this screen that neither the mouse nor the keyboard nor the touch screen works, so I cannot continue with the installation, only The pc freezes at this point, I've tried a wired mouse and keyboard, but it still doesn't work.

Is there an option that needs to be enabled in InsydeH20 to allow USB boot support, even in UEFI mode?

Attached image of the start of the PC, which is at the moment in which the installation of WINDOWS was left, on this screen the PC does not allow, by any means, be it mouse, keyboard or touch screen, to select the WINDOWS language, to continue with installation. I enclose images of the BOOT MANAGER, it only seems to allow the UEFI mode to be active.

@garondon7  You said it has Win 8.1 now. What version are you trying to install? This PC doesn't support Win 11...

Is PC connected to its power adapter when you run the install or is it only on battery?

I thought that the only solution is to change the motherboard.

The PC still has WINDOWS 8.1 installed, which was the one that came from the factory, and it is that same WINDOWS that I want to reinstall when resetting the computer.

when I run the installation the PC is connected to the power adapter!
