Dell Dimension 5000

I own a dell dimension 5000

I also own two Dell Power Supplies

1. CN-0NH493-71615-72F-0D5B

Serial Number 01747480

REV A03

2. CN-0F0894-71615-586-41F9

Serial Number 02805390

REV A03

are any of these the standard power unit supplied by dell that goes inside the Dimension 5000 or is there another one that I can look at buying for this.

one power supply has got all Sata power and would have to use a sata controller for the hard drive as the board only has two sata ports for data and one IDE Channel.

the other one I have has all Molex Power and would have to add a molex to sata connector or either hard drive or drives or the optical drives.

or can someone point me in the right direction.

If you only use one sata hdd one sata dvd it is better use sata connector from psu. Old Dell oem psu not worth buying to repair this vintage pc unless you have a spare working one from another old Dell.

if you only use one ide hdd one ide dvd you can use the psu that has all molex.  The slowness of this pc has more to do w cpu ram than hdd.  whether it is sata or ide hdd makes small difference in speed but it is harder to replace ide drives when they pass away, unless you have a stock of old ide
