Dell 24 inch AIO (5415 Model) Questions
Hi Everyone,
First of all, appreciate all the help!
Last night, I bought an open-boxed Dell 24 in. AIO from Best Buy (not through a third party reseller). The unit is missing power cord, keyboard, mouse, packaging box and all the box contents, essentially a barebone (legs are included) for a discounted price.
The unit (the screen) overall is in great condition. No major damages. But I'm experiencing a few issues:
1. The left hinge clip is broken (top picture). The second picture is the good one. Although it does stand and holds up, but not secure. I googled and tried to look for parts, no luck. The only part available is the whole hinge piece. But I think I can just unscrew the plastic piece and replace a clip? Anyone has any tip?
2. The computer runs hot, even after a cold boot. It starts with about 55 degree. Then after light web browsing and youtube, the temperature jumps to 80s, peak to 90. As a result, the fan kicks in all the time and at the peak temperature, pretty noticeable fan noise. Is this normal? The CPU is AMD 7530U. It is a pretty efficient processor. I don't expect the CPU to run this hot though.
3. Best Buy has a 14 days return policy for open-boxed item. But does Dell honor warranty for the above issues? If not, I probably return it to Best Buy. But I want to check out with Dell first.
4. One final issue. As I mentioned in point 1, the unit does not come with the original 90W power cord. Best Buy sales person was kind enough to give me a 45W spare power cord available in the store. Does this causing the over heat issue in point 2? I would think no, since I'm actually feeding lesser power, and should technically runs quieter?
Really appreciate all the help!
Thanks!
