Computer won't boot up because of alert message
I have had my Inspiron 3264 AIO desktop for some 5 years with very few issues. The other day it asked me to download updates after which it would turn off. When I turned it on the following day this message appeared
"Alert! A non-genuine AC power adapter has been detected. The system is unable to boot. Please connect a Del 65W AC adapter of greater for best system performance". Then the computer turns off after a few seconds.
The power adapter is the one that came with the computer and always worked fine.
I have attempted to rectify the issue by pressing F12 or F2 and following the instructions on the screen but it still goes back to the alert message and turns off.
Any recommendations to resolve this would be greatly appreciated.

There are a couple of possibilities. First is the DC plug on the adapter -- try a new OEM Dell power supply and see if that is detected (if you don't want to buy one, just about any local computer shop will have one you can try).
If the second adapter provides the same error, the DC jack or the charge circuit on the mainboard is bad. Unfortunately, the DC jack is soldered to the system board so the solution in either case is a replacement mainboard.
