Cables for Western Digital 4 TB for Inspiron 3670 desk top

Received a free 4 TB Western Digital and was curious what cables I need to use. I have an Inspiron 3670. I'm rather ignorant on hardware so if its recommended to use another type of storage for this desktop I will buy it.

Its a Western Digital 4 TB/ SATA 6Gb/s  PC HA500 S/N: WCC7K5ZPJ5J9.

Thank you.

sata hdd need a power cable and a data cable.

both cables connect to 3670 motherboard

your pc already has sata power cable most likely. It is a 15 pin cable

check if there is a sata data cable included in the pc.  It is a 7 pin cable.

the sata power ports are #5, 8.  both 6 pin.

the sata data ports are two black, one blue, one white.  use the black or blue one for your new 4TB hard drive.

@redxps630

Thank you for the quick response! I was able to plug in both cables to the 4 TB. I used the blue and black per your advice. However, my computer is not able to recognize the device. I have attempted to update drivers on my BIOS. That does not seem to be the issue.

Re: my computer is not able to recognize the device

this is often because bios>sata operation is set as RAID ON which is Dell default.  If so try change it to AHCI by using the safe mode boot trick here.
