BIOS Update Failure

I purchased a new Inspiron desktop the end of November 2024. My old Dell computer was 12 years old and slow so I thought I should upgrade. I have an iPhone and iPad and wish I had stayed with Apple! I hired a computer tech to set up the computer and when he went to restart it stuck on Dell logo after Bios Update for over 2 hours. Of course computer tech had left thinking it would restart but I had to unplug the computer and then turned on power button and computer did turn on. This issue went on for a few weeks. Dell sent technician to home and motherboard was replaced two times. Still same problem. Dell had me send the computer to Texas for repairs. Came back and same issue - Bios would not install on computer. Still talking to Dell support - about lost it when he asked if I had another computer to use! Now I have escalated the problem to higher up tech support. I keep asking for a new computer or a refund. They said over 30 days - which I said they could tell that this computer had the issue from day one! Yesterday I was asked to send a video of the BIOS hung up and not installing. So I did that and sent the video off to tech support. Now they say the video wasn't long enough! I am so done with this run around.

Hi,

I can understand how frustrating this issue must be!

Stick with it if you can. In my experience Dell always get to the issue one  way or another. Keep us all updated on how it goes.

What method was used to attempt to update BIOS?

The way to do it download it to a blank flash drive from the Dell site.  Upon turning on the PC, repeatedly press F12 and choose to boot from the flash drive.

BIOS can also be updated from within Windows.  However, Rockstars with more experience than me say the above method is best.

A Dell technician logged into my computer and that is how he tried to update the BIOS with blank flash drive, but still wouldn't install.
