Are AdBlockers any good?
Are AdBlockers any good? They claim to be free but actually they are not. They charge you every month. I've seen the reviews of some adblockes and although some of them are positive on the other hand there are many negative reviews, such as Computer slowed noticeably after the installation of the app, they cancelled the subscription and they still get charged, although the app is installed they still get adverts. I've tried AdGuard but after having it for just a few days it froze and it wouldn't run. So I uninstalled it. So are AdBlockers trustworthy? Has anybody had good experience with an AdBlocker?

Hi
Just to add to the two excellent responses so far....
I run the BRAVE BROWSER and with Ad-Block plus pay no fees and have no real issues with adverts popping up.

I have had Ad-Aware in the past and for the basic program available here, it is free. Also one of the best malware cleaners Malwarebytes, has a free add on ad ware blocker available here. Make sure you download the free extension at the bottom of the page as any other download is a trial for a pay version.

Here's one popular site's list of best ad blockers for popular browsers. Note that according to this article, Chrome's interface for extensions will change in January, which will probably affect ad blocker support on Chrome at least for awhile. Note too that the Brave (which I use) and DuckDuckGo browsers have ad blocking built-in.

I thank all of you for your responses. All of them are excellent. With so many browsers to choose from, it's difficult to make a choice. I haven't heard of Brave before. Well with a built-in ad-blocker I think it's a very good choice.

FWIW, I use Firefox with the free Ghostery extension that blocks tracking and does ad blocking etc....
