All-in-one won't boot because of dead optical drive

Can i tell the PC to ignore the optical drive at bootup to get it to start until i can replace the drive?

Blue screen of death code was for a dead optical drive. When I try to boot it gets stuck in repair mode.

Enter bios to move odd to bottom of legacy bios boot priority list.  Or remove odd from boot list.  Save then exit.

usually if there is no disc in odd it automatically goes to the next boot device it can find, either hdd or usb.

Truly appreciate the response. I'll give it a shot.

@Fletch3r - Always include exact PC model and version of Windows in your posts.

How do you know this problem is because of a failed optical drive?

If you ran the diagnostics on the optical drive from the F12 boot menu, you have to have a data CD (not a commercial audio CD or DVD) in the drive before you launch the diagnostics from the menu. Otherwise, the optical drive doesn't see a disc, because it's not there, and that makes it fail the diagnostics...

usually not hard to physically access odd in AIO after opening back cover, depending on specific model. Try disconnect sata power cable from odd after you can access it.

That was something else I wanted to try but didn't want to waste my time if it wasn't really an option. Especially since I opened it before but didn't have the tools to really get into it at the time. Thank you.

Could there be a disc in the optical drive?
