"Alert! Cover was previously removed" Help remove the message on start up

Hi, Everyone

I have a dell inspiron 5348. I recently changed the motherboard. I was having a bootup problem. I changed the motherboard to "Dell Optiplex 9030 AIO All-In-One CYTN6 LGA1150 Motherboard" the problem I am having is the message I keep getting "Alert! Cover was previously removed".

the computer works fine after the motherboard replacement.

Things I have tried:

Reset the motherboard ( jumper/ remove coin battery)

reset the bios to default

cleared the error log in bios

looked for Chassis Intrusion on the System Security screen, unable to find the option.

My hunch is that the setting does not show up in the BIOS because you do not have an intrusion switch plugged into the MB. If you have access to the switch from the 9030 then you could plug it into the MB and the BIOS setting should show up. At that point you can disable the warning. Of course you could also secure the switch shaft in the depressed position which would accomplish the same thing but in either case you will need the intrusion switch or an intrusion switch.

That switch can be found at Parts Country here and Pickclick here.

Hi, Thank you for the fast reply. The problem is I can't find/don't know where that micro switch is.  do you have a blueprint or picture of where that can be on this motherboard?

thank you

The location of the switch is on the left of power supply fan, and the location of the connector (debug/intru) is right below the hard drive.  I think shorting pin 2 and 3 could be suffice.

Thank you everyone for all the help. Dell inspiron 5348 did not come with intrusion switch nor a place to plug it. when I changed the motherboard the new motherboard Dell Optiplex 9030 did have a plug. I order used one on eBay plugged it in, and everything works.

thank you
