3847 case swap (Dell proprietary front panel)

motherboard has 12 pin front panel, apparently 10 of the 12 follow standard 9 pin at least for the pw sw pins: 6/8

this is confirmed, but with a Dell trick.

after case swap, if connect new case pw +/- to 6/8 pin, board does turn on, but No POST

even after connecting hdd led, pwr led, reset sw pins, still no post.

the Dell trick is that pin 5 and 9 must be shorted.

the standard pinout is 7/5 for reset +/-.

if pin 9 is shorted with pin 5, successful POST, otherwise board just power on but no POST

a very weird Dell way of doing things
