3020 not connecting to monitors
Inspiron 3020 Desktop
Hi, maybe I'm being a bit dense, but my monitors won't recognise my new Inspiron 3020. I have HDMI and Playport on the PC, HDMI and VGA on the monitors. I have HDMI leads, Playport to HDMI and HDMI to VGA, yet "no signal" is my monitors response to all these combinations. Stick it into the TV and all is fine on either HDMI or Playport to HDMI leads but no joy on the monitors. Have tried setting monitors to accept input on HDMI but still nothing.
At the moment the monitors are linked to an old inspiron and an XPS (850 I think) and are running just fine. They just don't like the new guy.
I was wondering whether there is a setting I need to change on the PC that might make it recognisable or does it sound more like a monitor issue. (Both monitors are BenQ)
Any help or advice on this issue will be gratefully received.
Regards
Sean

are you using a straight simple hdmi to hdmi cable?
if so, PC to TV HDMI works, but PC to monitor HDMI no video, that would mean the monitor is not set to accept HDMI from PC. the TV basically serves as a simple HDMI display. if TV works with PC and hdmi-hdmi cable, it proves both pc and cable are good. swap tv for monitor, if no video, the fault is with your BenQ.
your monitor does not have DP. so do not try using the DP port of PC.

It's also possible if you have a second graphics card in your computer that you're plugging into the wrong HDMI port. Look below the rectangle with all the connectors, and see if you have other HDMI plugs available.

I have installed Windows 11 on Dell Vostro 3020 using Display Port and it works. But when using HDMI port no signal on monitor!? I have tried two monitors, but nothing, only works using Display Port. I will try to update BIOS and VGA driver for Windows 11.

Hello, it is faulty new HDMI cable. I have new cable, open it from a bag, new computer, but HDMI cable not working. It works using different cable. Best regards, Nebojsa
